The making of Deepika Padukone's Sabyasachi bridal lehenga and ivory Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla saree

From her traditional south Indian gold Kanjeevarams, exiquisite red lehenga to her Chikankari ivory ensemble - Deepika Padukone's bridal trousseau has been everything that dreams are made of. While she entrusted ace designer Sabyasachi with most of her looks, she opted for designer duo Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, at her Mumbai reception.
For her Anand Karaj ceremony at Lake Como, Deepika wore a regal hand-painted red colored Sabyasachi Lehenga from their 'India Revival Project'. It had intricate dabka embroidery and gota work with the pattern of dancing peacocks adorning the hem of the skirt.
Sabyasachi has now released a video of the making of her lehenga and it's breathtaking, to say the least. The video showcases the initial drawings of the designs and then takes the viewers on the journey of how the intricate sequin and peacock motif handiwork was done.
It also shows how Deepika's much talked about 'Sada Saubhagyavati Bhav' dupatta was hand-embroidered.
For her Mumbai reception on Wednesday, Deepika wore an ivory and gold, hand emroidered chiffon chikankari saree with an elaborate head drape.
The ensemble was created in 16,000 man-hours! The making video shows the crafstmanship that went behind the super gorgeous outfit.
Have a look for yourself:
As per a Times Now report, the saree was made by women embroiders of Lucknow who applied the traditional Ton Sur Ton style of weaving.
