Kangana Ranaut’s kurta set gives the everyday outfit a festive update
Kangana Ranaut loves her easy-breezy kurtas,
but that doesn’t mean her off-duty Indian ethnic looks are boring. For a
meeting in Mumbai recently, Ranaut showed us that her collection of
kurtas is full of pretty must-haves. The actor was seen in an ivory
chanderi kurta by Anita Dongre, that came dotted with white and baby
blue embroidery. The half-silk, half-cotton number may have been in a
neutral colour, but the shine of the fabric took Kangana Ranaut’s outfit
from basic to eye-catching. To complete her afternoon ensemble, the
star draped a striped dupatta around her neck and wore the kurta with
matching ivory trousers.
If you’ve ever taken a peek inside Kangana Ranaut’s closet (step inside with Vogue India here), you may already know that the actor has an envy-worthy selection of accessories. With her pretty white kurta set, she carried along a grey Birkin, and added a touch of colour to the outfit via baby pink Louis Vuitton heels.

Few know it, but Kangana Ranaut has enjoyed wearing Indian ethnic numbers since she was a child. “I was in the sixth standard, really tiny, and I would wear these transparent kurtas with the little bustier that Madhuri Dixit [Nene] wore in [Dil To Pagal Hai],” the star once told us. “My teachers would scold me for that!” If you too have always been a fan of classic kurtas, a look like hers is perfect for you.
