The journey of Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's wedding seems to be a dreamy affair in Mumbai. The celebrations began Sunday evening with guests turning up at Anil Kapoor's residence sporting their traditional best. Both the bride-to-be and the groom-to-be were all smiles as they twined in pink. The 'Veere Di Wedding' star, who is all set to take the nuptial vows with the Delhi-based businessman on May 8, was grabbing the eyeballs in a peach-coloured chikankari outfit and mehndi-clad hands, while Anand donned a pink bandhgala kurta . Sanjay Kapoor's daughter and Sridevi's younger daughter Khushi were clicked getting mehndi on their palms. Shanaya donned a combination of a baby-pink skirt, kurta and dupatta with golden details. "It's not very often that I travel to places which are so interesting and intriguing," said the actress, who’s known for her roles in films 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai', 'Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai' and 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein' and several TV shows including 'Bigg Boss'. Though it was a quick and tightly scheduled visit to Kanpur for Tannaz, but she was excited about shopping in Lucknow and Kanpur. "Before coming to Kanpur, my friends in Mumbai told me to pick up leather footwear from Kanpur and Chikankari Sarees  and Lucknowi Kurtis  from Lucknow. They also told me to try mughlai dishes in Lucknow and sweets in Kanpur. Iss baar toh Kanpur main shopping par nahi jaa saki par next time jab bhi yahaan aayi, tab shopping toh pakka karna hi hai mujhe," she said.

The pre-wedding festivities of the most anticipated wedding in B-town have begun! Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, who will soon tie the knot in a private ceremony on Tuesday, have begun their sangeet and mehendi ceremony, with their families and closest friends by their side. Dressed to perfection in shades of ivory and gold , the bride-to-be and her handsome groom arrived well in time to get the celebrations started at the venue- Sonam’s maternal aunt Kavita Singh’s Bandra bungalow. While Sonam looked resplendent in a Chikankari lehenga by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla Couture paired with heavy gold and pearl jewellery, Anand looked dashing in a matching coloured Chikankari kurta paired with a Nehru jacket and a large emerald broché. According to the designers, Sonam’s ensemble took multiple teams of artisans eighteen months to complete!
